A visual ode to truth — raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically real.
Artist’s Reflection
Truth touches something inside us. It doesn´t seek to be beautiful. Yet it is. Because everything raw, honest and unapologetically real is beauty in its purest form.
Truth shakes us, scares us, wakes us up. But most of all – it frees us. Especially when it's about ourselves.
When you stop hiding your truth, when you wear it openly on your sleeve instead of keeping it a secret, you become a shield of clarity. A mirror for others.
So focus only on your truth – the truth about yourself. That´s all that really matters.
Truth doesn´t judge. It just is. And when you live it – as unapologetic as you can – you not only stop needing permission – you also gain the capability to receive others and give others the freedom to be themselves, completely.
For a long time, I hoped being myself would come naturally. „Just be yourself“ – sounds like the simplest idea in the world – turns out it is one of the hardest things to actually live.
I struggled. I still do. But it´s getting better. For years, I stayed away from social media. I was scared I couldn´t show up as my real self – not in a space with flawless, perfectly curated feeds.
But deep down I knew: I want to connect. I want my creative work to serve. And that life only makes sense if I show up as who I truly am.
Unfiltered. Unapologetic. Present.
Because otherwise I´d miss the very thing that makes life worth living:
Not following the script, but living on my own terms.
This painting is an invitation to stop hiding and start living as you are — openly, clearly, fully.

If this piece calls you, it’s because your truth is tired of waiting for your permission.
If this piece calls you, it’s not art — it’s your way back.
It belongs to those who are ready to be real.

Roxanne Franz is a Lisbon-based multidisciplinary artist with a background in somatic therapy, creative writing, and mental health education. Her work blends intuitive abstraction with inner process, drawing from emotional memory, spiritual depth, and the body’s intelligence. After years of writing and teaching on trauma, emotions, and authenticity, painting became her unfiltered language — a way to speak what words could not reach. Her series “Conversations with the Unknown” invites viewers into subtle, in-between realms of identity, healing, and soul connection.
